German car company Volkswagen is going to launch its compact SUV Volkswagen Taigun in the Indian market on 23 September. Even before the launch, the car is getting great response from the customers. The company started booking this compact SUV on August 18. Now according to the report of carandbike, Volkswagen Tigun has received more than 10,000 pre-orders.
This has been disclosed by Volkswagen brand board member for sales, marketing and after sales Klaus Zellmer. He told during the exclusive conversation that the company aims to sell around 5,000 to 6,000 units of the Taigun every month in India. But we have already got 10 thousand pre-bookings. The Taigun is Volkswagen Group’s first model to be built on the new MQB-A0-IN platform under the company’s India 2.0 strategy.

Here are the features of the car
The top-spec GT variant of the SUV will get LED headlights, LED daytime running lamps, 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. The interiors of the car will have features like a 10-inch touchscreen display and a fully digital instrument cluster. For safety, the SUV comes with 3-point seatbelts, ISOFIX mount, rear parking camera, ABS and 6 airbags for all passengers. This car will compete with vehicles like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
This upcoming car will get two types of engine options – 1.0 liter TSI and 1.5 liter TSI petrol. The 1.0-litre turbocharged engine produces 113 PS and 175 Nm. This engine comes with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. While the 1.5 liter TSI petrol generates 148 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. The engine will get the option of 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG transmission.
