The Spanish automobile market continues its recovery, adding positive for the fifth month in a row. And it is that according to the latest figures published by the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (ANFAC), the sales of passenger cars and SUVs increased by 8.3% in May after registering a total of 92,025 registered units. However, if we look at the registration totals of small, medium, large and premium SUVs, we see that they reached 52,324 units in May, representing 56.9% of the market share for the month.
Furthermore, if we analyze the ranking published by the Institute of Automotive Studies (Ideauto) on the twenty best-selling cars in Spain in May, we see that a total of 11 models were SUVs. This shows the great interest these vehicles have among drivers in Spain.

Closing out the ranking of the eleven best-selling SUVs in May we find Peugeot 2008 with 1,325 units registered.
The Peugeot 3008 ranks tenth on the list after reaching 1,394 registrations.
The ninth most sought-after SUV in May was the Cupra Formentor with 1,453 units delivered.
Renault Captur occupies the eighth position in this ranking after registering a total of 1,518 units.
The seventh best-selling SUV of the month was the Toyota C-HR, with a total of 1,581 registered units.
The Volkswagen T-Roc was the sixth SUV preferred by Spaniards in May after registering a total of 1,587 registrations.
In the top 5 of this list we find Toyota Yaris Cross with 1,747 units.
Hyundai Tucson was the fourth best selling SUV in May after reaching 1,772 registered units.
In the top 3 of this ranking is the Kia Sportage with a total of 1,830 units sold.
The MG ZS was the second best selling SUV in May with a total of 1,932 units delivered.
In one more month, the Seat Arona topped the list and became the best-selling SUV in the Spanish market in May 2023 after registering a total of 1,989 units.
