UNITED STATES.- Last Tuesday, September 5, an 11-year-old minor was on trial accused of killing his mother in November last year.
The boy faces charges of first-degree first degree murder for which he will stand trial as an adult, a Wisconsin judge said in July this year.
Although the minor pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, the hearing was rescheduled for October 6.
The ad revealed that the boy had shot his mother because she was upset about waking him up early.
What happened in Wisconsin on November 21st?
On November 21, the boy told police it was all an accident. However, it was later revealed that he had purposely aimed at his mother before shooting her.
The family told authorities the boy had mental health problems.
“This is an absolute family tragedy. I don’t think anyone would deny or disagree with that… The adult system is absolutely incapable of addressing the needs of a 10-year-old child,” said Angela Cunningham, one of the defendant’s attorneys, at the time.
The crime was committed at 7:00 a.m. when the victim was washing clothes in the basement.
When police arrived, the minor pointed out that the gun had been fired accidentally, so he was allowed to leave with his loved ones.
A day later, an aunt of the attacker reported that her nephew confessed to asking him to drop the gun before killing his mother, but he ignored this.
The boy’s aunt and sister said he never cried or showed remorse, even a day after committing the crime he logged into his mother’s Amazon account and ordered an Oculus virtual reality headset.
The child had a history of wrongdoing
The family also reported last year that the minor had exhibited disruptive behavior since he began flinging his dog’s tail when he was four years old.
And six months before the crime, he filled a balloon with a flammable liquid and set it on fire, causing an explosion that burned the furniture and carpet.
