12 Indian workers burnt in massive blast at steel plant reactor in Birganj-Pathala, Nepal

Amitabh Ojha, Patna: A horrific incident took place on Thursday in the Birganj-Pathalaya industrial area of ​​Parsa district of Nepal, adjacent to Raxaul on the Indo-Nepal border. More than a dozen Nepalese nationals, including Indian workers, were seriously injured. According to the information, a terrible explosion took place in the furnace of Best Steel Plant located in Birganj-Pathalaya industrial area.

Because of this, the workers who worked in it were badly burned and now they are fighting for their lives. At around 12:45 pm, a huge explosion occurred in the furnace during the smelting of iron, due to which its liquid iron material fell on the bodies of the workers working there and they were killed, said Belbahadur Pandey, police captain of the Parsa guard.

A total of 15 people were injured in the accident. Among the injured, 12 Indian workers were badly burnt, and the homes of one Nepali national and two injured people have yet to be found. Of these, 7 are in critical condition, while 8 are generally injured.

Those have been admitted to Narayani Hospital for treatment. Generally, the injured are being treated at the local level, but given the seriousness of the situation, the seriously injured have been referred to Patna.

The critically injured were rushed to Bettiah Medical College Hospital by ambulance. Notably, the explosion was so horrific that chaos ensued. The fire was brought under control by calling the fire brigade. Workers from other states, including Bihar and Orissa, are also likely to be involved in the injuries.
