in short needed

  • Human footprints from the last ice age have been discovered in Utah (USA).
  • Traces are as old as 12,000 years.
  • However, they can only be seen when the soil is at a certain level of moisture.

Amazing discovery in the desert of Utah, USA! A team of scientists was able to find footprints in a 12,000-year-old air force base. Thus, traces of humans come from the last ice age.

Thomas Urban of Cornell University has confirmed that the prints are from 88 different adults and children. As the “DailyMail” writes, the scientist knew immediately that these were old footprints.

Footprints surprise researchers

Reason: He was also present in the oldest human footprints ever found in White Sands National Park in New Mexico (USA). These tracks were almost twice as old as the current discovery and date to 23,000 years ago.

The discovery in Utah is nonetheless very special. Because they can be seen only when the soil is somewhat moist.

This particular property can be explained by changes in the landscape. During the Ice Age, what is now an arid desert was covered by shallow water. The soil ensured that the marks remained intact for thousands of years and can be seen today with little moisture.
