After two years without face-to-face, the Catholic night show Christmas by the Lake returns to Mar del Plata (Argentina), with 160 young people on stage.
On this occasion, the show will take place on January 6 and 7, 2023, at the Santa María de la Armonia ranch (Route 2, km 382.5) in the Mar Chiquita district of Buenos Aires province.
Christmas by the Lake seeks to bring a message of spirituality and hope, and is organized by over a hundred young people from the seven communities of the Diocese. Every year, the event calls upon thousands of spectators.
On a 200-meter stage, 160 young people between the ages of 15 and 25 will take to the stage to recount the life of Jesus and how his path through the world changed humanity.
It is a show of lights, sound and staging, which takes place in the midst of nature.
This work connects the gospel message with the reality of the lives of young people today.
Ceremonies are scheduled for 8:30 a.m., but the estate will be open beginning at 6:00 a.m. for the public to enter and tour the park and historic gallery. There will also be a handicraft area and a gastronomy service specially prepared for the occasion.
There will be a bus service that will depart at 7:15 p.m. from Colón and Tucumán streets in downtown Mar del Plata. The organization suggested that the public bring beach chairs, a coat and insect repellent.
Admission is free, and you can cooperate with a contribution voucher for 500 Argentine pesos (about $1.7) for adults and 300 pesos (about a dollar) for children under 12.
Those who participate in the work stay for ten days to experience a special climate and spirituality, a way of embodying values and developing relationships.
The ultimate goal is to be able to propagate through beauty. With this aim, they intend to reach the public not as actors but as “witnesses” of what they believe and want to live.
