Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the film was one of the highest-grossing films of 2002. Ajay Devgan, Mohanlal, Vivek Oberoi, Manisha Koirala and Antara Mali starred in the film. This was actor Mohanlal’s first Bollywood film in which he played the role of Police Commissioner Srinivasan.

During an interview, Ram Gopal had told that Vivek and Ajay often praised Mohanlal’s intense looks and acting during the shoot. Furthermore, both of them were very impressed by his acting performance.

Mohanlal started his acting career at the age of 18 with the 1978 film Thiranottam. He played the role of a villain in the film, which turned out to be a blockbuster.

A big record was also registered in the name of Mohanlal. According to media reports, around 34 films of Mohanlal were released in 1986. Of these, 25 films were box office hits. So far no one has managed to break this record.
