Some states are making payments to residents who meet certain requirements, and the maximum amount that can be received from these payments is $1,500.
1. New Jersey
New Jersey is remitting payments from the New Jersey Affordable Communities Program to homeowners and renters.
In this program, homeowners can receive a $1,500 payment if their annual income is $150,000 or less, or a $1,000 payment if their annual income is between $150,001 and $250,000.
Renters would receive slightly less than homeowners, although they would still have a copayment of $450.
By March 2023, more than 1.7 million New Jersey residents have applied for the program, including 1.25 million homeowners and more than 514,000 renters.
2. Georgia
According to the Georgia Department of Revenue, residents of that state will receive an additional tax refund this month.
The refund amount will be $250 for single taxpayers, $375 for household taxpayers and $500 for married couples filing jointly.
To be considered eligible for this refund, a beneficiary must have filed an individual income tax return for tax years 2021 and 2022 by the April 18 deadline.
