The creation of the State Center for Drug Prevention has progressed 30 percent, announced the head of the Secretary of State for Public Security of the State of Aguascalientes (SSPE), Manuel Alonso García.
In a press conference, he mentioned that he is currently working with the company’s Health Services Institute (ISSEA) on the appropriate legal issues for the consolidation of this project, which he believes is part of the security strategy.
“We have already advanced the creation of this center for the care of people with addiction problems by 30 percent. To be able to set up this first government center requires a coordinated plan between the health sector and the secretariat part of the strategy, now we are on the legal question.”
He explained that infrastructure development will be carried out later so that the center will be operational in the first half of next year.
“It’s a broad subject, not just the clinical issue, it addresses the issue of prevention and the issue of follow-up,” he added.
The State Center for Addiction Prevention is expected to provide clinical care for people with a history of crime. In this way, attempts are also made to combat crime in the company.
Complaints about drug trafficking are falling
For its part, the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System states that from January to June this year, the state of Aguascalientes added 1,106 investigation files into drug trafficking.
The month of June was ranked as the period with the lowest number of complaints, with 133, compared to 158 in May. The month with the highest number of complaints is March with 234.
For this reason, the civil organization Semáforo Delictivo considers that the crime of drug trafficking is on alert in Aguascalientes.
