A three-dimensional model of the ‘Tower with a Bone Spinning Wheel’ found in Calatrava La Vieja and in the Ciudad Real Museum has become part of the ‘Top Ten’ of the most spectacular weekly models hosted by ‘Sketchfab’. , the largest 3D platform for cultural heritage on the planet.
It is a bone object also engraved as a capital with a hole carved with a cap. It was in everyday use in the Islamic world.
This new model is combined with three others from the community who have already reached this category, such as a gold ring from the ‘Las Zanzas’ deposit in the city of Alcubillas, a Roman silver coin from the estate ‘Las Navas’ ( Danario). From Almadenejos and the shining Islamic Orza also from Calatrava La Vieja.
In addition to these fragments, there are 3D models of other monuments in the autonomous community that have managed to reach the category of ‘staff pick’, such as Santa Maria de Melk (Toledo), La Motilla del Azuer (Ciudad Real), Church Medieval Calatrava La Nueva (Ciudad Real) or Castle of Consuegra (Toledo).
These pieces have been selected from over 100,000 3D models of cultural heritage that currently exist on this popular website.
Work to digitize the legacy of Castilla-La Mancha, which once again stands internationally, has been carried out in the region since 2020 thanks to the cooperation agreement between the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha and the American entity Non- Thank you. At the Ciudad Real Museum, 700 pieces have already been digitized, 575 of which can be viewed for free on the ‘SketchFab’ platform.
