4 movies opened in Seattle area theaters on November 5th; what to see here

★★★½ (out of four)”passing(PG-13; 98 min): Rebecca Hall’s definitive debut, the story of two light-skinned black women – one of them choosing to be white – unfolds as an artistic melodrama. ★★★ “eternal”(PG-13; 157 min): What do you get when you pair a huge Marvel movie with a director who is known for his talent with smaller-scale, meditative independent films? “Eternal”, with its star-studded cast, which is particularly diverse, provides the answer. ★★★ “wig“(R; 116 min): The most interesting thing about this impeccably elegant film is not its story – certainly even those deeply interested in Princess Diana’s life who have so far considered every possible angle – but its central Performance. Souvenir: Part II“(R; 106 min): This sequel, which ends more or less the 2019 art-house favorite, is a portrait of an artist (played by Honor Swinton Byrne), whose boyfriend died not long ago It’s about life and art, inspiration and process, growing and becoming. And while it’s familiar in many ways, it’s the story of a recognizable faltering young woman who tells her rejected male professors that her successive film” life as I imagine it” — and then makes good on his statement of intent.
