Because a massage or facial at the beach is better than anything you’d be doing at home.
We all know Memorial Day weekend is the *official* kick-off for the summer waterfront season. But the beauty of the Jersey Shore is that you don’t have to limit yourself to that three-ish month window to enjoy those lovely sandy towns. (Autumn is a gem under the coast, FYI.)
No matter where you’re headed to your favorite shore point (and stopping for some grub along the way), you can maximize your R&R time by getting pampered at the spa. Below, find nine resorts and day spas on the Jersey Shore that will leave you feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated—without needing to break the beach tag.
Exhale Spa + Bathhouse
Ocean Casino Resort, Atlantic City
At Exhale Spa + Bathhouse, you’ll find respite from high-energy table games and entertainment inside its AC resort. The 40,000-square-foot spa offers a menu of relaxing treatments such as massages, facials, body wraps and scrubs, as well as beauty treatments such as waxing and brow shaping. In addition, Exhale is home to a bathhouse – which has a Jacuzzi, jetted pool and Himalayan salt grotto – for you to enjoy for an hour after your treatment.
Rock Spa & Salon
Hard Rock Hotel, Atlantic City
The Hard Rock Hotel was recently named the Best Hotel in Atlantic City by U.S. News & World Report—and for good reason. In addition to a robust casino, multiple dining options, and live performances from big-name celebs, the resort also has a full-service saloon. With 31 treatment rooms, Rock Spa & Salon blends the distinctly music-focused style of hard rock with the laid-back atmosphere of the spa. There are curated soundtracks, massage sets for facials and body wraps that incorporate sonic vibrations, and a range of beauty services that will bring out your inner rockstar. Want to really relax? Opt for CBD-infused treatments (including pedicures!).
Salt Spa at Reeds
Reeds at Shelter Haven, Stone Harbor
Reeds is the crme de la crme of the shore gateway at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor. Each room feels like a mini oasis, you can kayak or go paddleboarding from the resort’s dock, and don’t even get us started about the bay view at Bucket, the open-air restaurant. It’s no surprise that Oprah is here whenever she’s in town. Its spa, the Salt Spa at The Reeds, will make it even more difficult to leave. While you can certainly opt for a massage, facial, mani/pedi, haircut and colour, tanning sesh, or flotation therapy, you will be exempt from not trying mud treatments or scrubs in a Turkish bath – its only Merciful under the same edge.
Congress Hall, Cape May
No visit to Cape May is complete without a stop at Congress Hall. Sure, it’s easy to sip cocktails in the Adirondack chairs, but don’t skip the Sea Spa. In the cabana-style rooms, get pampered with a massage, facial (with a list of upgrades!), body wrap, or wax session. The spa also offers a more luxury version, called Ritual and Experience, which typically combines treatments into one, super-soothing package.
Wave Resort & Spa, Long Branch
This Long Branch-based resort and spa is located right across from the beach, which means the sounds and picturesque views of the ocean are oh! So! close it! Wave Spa specializes in bodywork with 10 different massages to choose from – everything from deep tissue to sports recovery to prenatal. You can also opt for a scrub or wrap, both of which use elements from the ocean, including algae extracts, sea mud, and black sand.
Beach House Spa
1709 North Long Beach Blvd, Surf City
This boutique day spa in LBI has been offering personalized beauty and body treatments since 2016. At the Beach House Spa, choose from a list of facials and advanced skincare treatments (think hydrafacials and microdermabrasion), massage, and waxing options—or opt for a combo. package if you want the full shebang. Plus, the team does event makeup (perfect for edgy brides and bridal parties!), airbrush tanning, and lash extensions.
Cape May Day Spa & Holistic Center
607 Jefferson Street, Cape May
This quaint day spa in Cape May is the perfect choice for those rainy beach afternoons or days when you’re just stopping by. Bring your S.O. to enjoy one of the couple’s getaways, many of which combine massages with other treatments, or accompany your bestie for side-by-side facials. Of course if you’re riding alone there are options, but where’s the fun in that?

412 Bond Street, Asbury Park
What sets this Asbury Park wellness center apart is that it operates as both a day spa and fitness space. This way, you can relax in every possible way. Kur’s spa services include a variety of massages (such as an Ayurvedic massage adapted to your dosha, or your specific vitality), skin care treatments, and reflexology. If you want to get your body moving, there’s an on-site yoga studio that doubles as a personal training space.
