Paula explains her experience in a video from a Chinese platform
For many, TikTok has become a refuge in which to narrate their experiences in the first person. A young Spanish woman turned to a Chinese platform to explain her first day of work. Her name is Paula Corrales and under her profile @pauucorrales she wanted to share how her story was at work. For some, the first work is anecdotal, or on the contrary, frustrating. But for this girl it was surreal. In a matter of hours the video started going viral and already has more than 45,000 likes and more than 500 comments.
“He accepts you in the office, but you resign the first day, because the suits are stupid.” The video just starts in less than three minutes. Paula explains that it took her a while to find a job in the Odyssey, like many other young people. The girl began to repeat herself in shops and businesses in a certain area until she was lucky, or unlucky, depending on how you saw her getting an interview as a telemarketer. Once there, he ran into the man who was to meet him, according to his account, “it was a man who looked like a billionaire.” “He didn’t want to do the interview. Because of the look he wants to be on his helmet…” he confesses.
After they hired her for this job, the girl was offered five days of training to gain more experience and she could start immediately after completing these tests. However, the girl was very observant and suspicious of the work environment in which she was involved because “I saw how the money was moving around the establishment and I knew something was not right.” Paula later said that in those days of training he told her that he had to make six sales. “That is, they wanted me to work for free and I thought it was only training,” said the girl. He says the mentoring sessions he attended were very surprising and he shared his way of being party-minded: “I felt like a lost puppy. In the first days of training there were nine men, and in the last, which was a great event, in which he had to exercise his knowledge, so that no one would know.”
A cautious girl, she was sure that she would not enter the room, but she finally agreed: “they were all men and they were carrying things as if they were cracked.” “I gave all my shit on Saturday and look where I am now at the door of Maserati”, these are some of the expressions poured out by the trainers. Paula couldn’t believe what she was hearing and confessed that “the only thing she wanted to do with ‘normal’ money” was to go out to dinner with her girlfriend.
He also admitted that sometimes the leader entered the room, forced the workers to stand and “applause for everything”. He recited the classic speech that was given on the last day of training: “I was freaking out, things were heard like “in school they practice that we throw away garbage and be a failure, but we are going to teach you to be. Paula, very indignant, said to herself, “It is one thing to have money, another to be happy. Success goes to my bed and I don’t have to say anything to anyone. After not feeling comfortable, the girl from the premises.”
Paula finally resigned on the first day of work via WhatsApp. The girl, not at all angry, said why she did not want to stay in a group of this kind: “Truly, the speech that was given does not agree with the way of being, of doing, of thinking.” I doubted whether I should stay on account of money, but I cannot be in company with whom I will not share goods. The former boss answered correctly and ended the conversation amicably: “Perfect. I hope you find a company that shares your values. A lot of luck.”
