A man in Illinois, United States, stole a backpack to get to the airport and catch a flight, local authorities said.
According to local media, there are videos where a man can be seen arriving at the airport on a heavy machine. The defendant was identified with Timothy Baggott.
“Upon arrival, deputies were advised of a backhoe parked in the airport parking lot, which was suspicious in nature,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.
Later, the owner of the backhoe went to the airport and recognized that such equipment belongs to his and the company’s property.
The owner added that the machine, typically used to move large debris, was located at the job site, and that’s where the suspect took it.
Police said the man was charged with theft of more than $10,000, which is considered a felony.
