A new book by WSP reveals key climate strategies for organizations

WSP’s New York office furthers its commitment to helping organizations become Future Ready®, launching a book that explores how companies can improve their climate mitigation practices, climate resilience and greater impact may reconsider.

This book, titled “Future Ready: Your Organization’s Guide to Rethinking Climate, Resilience and Sustainability,” serves as a guide for leaders in business, government, and other organizations to establish and implement sustainability and resilience strategies in complex project and operational environments. functions as Apart from achieving its ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) objectives.

Published by Wiley Publishing House, the book is co-authored by Alistair McGregor, Executive Director, WSP Buildings Business Line; and Climate, Resilience and Sustainability Consultant, Tom Lewis. The text recalls the bold approach of a team of WSP technical experts and knowledge leaders with deep experience in risk assessment, planning, engineering, finance, project and program implementation, and advisory consulting.

In addition, the authors share practical examples and case studies that are based on hundreds of projects undertaken by WSP for a wide range of clients, markets and sectors of various scales. Their perspectives show readers how to actively engage with project stakeholders to successfully plan for, implement, and measure the impacts of natural disasters and climate change.

Using WSP projects as examples of successful ways to address these megatrends, McGregor and Lewis identify effective ways readers can take action.

The first part of the book is a journey through the current context, which is dynamic and changing, examining how climate impacts are driving innovation, sustainability in buildings, transport, infrastructure, resources, cities and organisations. The second part of the book is for organizations to start or accelerate their path towards a more sustainable and resilient future through the definition of objectives, the use of tools and technologies, risk assessment and reporting, nature-based solutions and climate finance.
