Aamir Khan’s Lagaan completed 21 years of release on June 15. The Bollywood superstar invited the cast of the film to his Mumbai home to celebrate.

Oscar-nominated Lagaan completed 21 years on June 15, 2022. The film is also counted among the best films of all time. 21 years is a long time and it calls for some celebrations. So, Aamir became host to the cast of Lagaan, director Ashutosh Gowariker and invited them to stay together at his Mumbai home. Cricketer Irfan Pathan was also seen in a video shared by Aamir Khan’s production house Instagram handle.

The blockbuster success Lagaan was released on 15 June 2001. The film completed 21 years this year on the said date. While we already shared how the film could soon be adapted as a West End show in the United Kingdom, we were in for some of the celebrations in the city. And so did! A video posted on Aamir Khan’s production house Instagram handle was an account of a fun evening spent by the cast of Lagaan, who was invited by Aamir to his home in Mumbai.

Lagaan is set in the pre-independence era, where members of a small village go up against British army officers in a game of cricket they know nothing about. His goal was to get the Lagaan (agriculture tax) abolished. Apart from Aamir, the film starred Gracy Singh, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Rajendra Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Rajesh Vivek, Pradeep Rawat and British actors Rachel Shelley and Paul Blackthorne.
