New Delhi Commenting on Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s statement that he cannot abolish drugs, the Aam Aadmi Party said that the people had trusted the Captain’s promise to eradicate the drugs, but he was breaking the trust by retracting his promise. This proves that he is a failed chief minister.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters, AAP’s Youth Wing President and MLA Gurmeet Singh Meet Hair said that before the 2017 elections, Captain Amarinder Singh had sworn in holding Gutkha Sahib that he would abolish drugs from Punjab in four weeks . Now they are saying that I had talked about breaking the back of drug mafias.
They have hurt the religious sentiments of the people by lying like this. People’s houses are being ruined in Punjab due to drugs. People are losing their loved ones because of drugs. People voted for Captain in the name of abolishing drugs, but Captain Amarinder has now turned away from his promise and was destroying the expectations of the people.
He said that the strings of drug smugglers are connected to the Chief Minister’s Office, so the Captain is defending him instead of taking action against him. He said that hundreds of people lost their lives due to fake alcohol consumption in Majha, but the culprits have not been arrested yet.
The Aam Aadmi Party is already alleging that the Chief Minister himself is providing protection to drug smugglers. Now that the Chief Minister himself has accepted that he cannot abolish drugs, it has become clear that Captain Amarinder Singh himself is running these mafias.
He said that the promise the Captain had promised to give employment to the youth can also no longer be trusted. If the youth do not have employment, they will get caught in the swamp of drugs and the drug smugglers business will continue. The people of Punjab will teach Captain Amarinder Singh a lesson for every false promise, including intoxication, door-to-door employment in the 2022 elections.
