“For Colored Girls” Actor Kimberly Elise set the internet on fire after she shared a message outlining the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to oust Roe v. Wade to overthrow, price.
Elise took to Instagram on Tuesday to post a picture of a sleeping baby along with the caption, “Millions of babies will be saved from death by abortion as a result of the overthrow of Roe V. Wade. Hallelujah! #allglorybetoGod”Next to a series of emojis, including babies and festive hands.
The actor’s remarks came days after the court’s ruling ended the nearly 50-year-old legal precedent that protected abortion rights, giving states the green light to significantly restrict access to reproductive health care.
Elise’s placement featured Scripture Psalm 139: 13-14. “For you have formed me within; You knitted me together in my mother’s lap. I praise You, for I am made terrible and wonderful. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows this very well, ”reads the scripture.
The actor turned off comments on her post. However, fans quickly went to Twitter to shout out her comments.
One user showed Elise’s role in the 2010 movie adaptation of the play “For Colored Girls” which deals with the subject of abortion.
Some fans poured out support for Elise and celebrated her right to have her own opinion.
Numerous celebrities have spoken out against the court’s decision, including former first lady Michelle Obama, Duchess Meghan Markle and actor and singer Selena Gomez.
Meanwhile, some figures indicated against abortion.
Sunny Hostin, co-host of “The View”, recently said she did not agree with the Supreme Court’s ruling, but that she opposed all forms of abortion without “any exception”.
“It’s because I’m Catholic and it’s my faith,” Hostin said on Monday during the talk show. “It has always been a very difficult discussion for me. “But what is not difficult for me is the fact that it is an activist Supreme Court and they should not decide the law on the basis of their faith.”
Elise, who made her film debut in “Set It Off” in 1996, did not respond to the setback.
