Adam Kizinger scoffs at Marjorie Taylor Green to play ‘victim’ on January 6

Rep. Adam Kizinger (R-Ill.) on Sunday told his colleague, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga.) is described by her lawyers as a victim of the US Capitol attack, not as a perpetrator.

“For Marjorie Taylor Green to say she’s a victim. It’s amazing how people like her attack everyone for being a victim,” Kinzinger said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“I mean, he attacked I think at some point in DC shooting the family of a survivor from a school,” he said. “She stood outside the Congressional office and shouted at him through a mail slot, saying she was too scared to come out and face him.

“And then when Marjorie is confronted by Taylor Green, she’s suddenly a victim and a poor helpless congressman just trying to do his job.”

“It’s crazy,” he said.

Kinzinger was referring to two of Green’s videos in 2019 before she was elected to Congress. In one, she is seen relentlessly harassing Parkland shooting survivor David Hogg near the US Capitol. In another, Greene hurls abuses at Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez through her office mailbox, telling her to “stop being a kid and stop locking your doors and come out and confront American citizens.” what you serve.”

Last week, attorneys representing Greene in a legal battle to put her name on the primary ballot in Georgia argued in court that Greene “was not a participant in the January 6 violence—she was a victim.”

Lawyers argued, Green claimed, “she was watered for hours, she was scared and confused, and she and her family feared for her life.”

A group of constituents of Greene represented by Free Speech for People, an organization that advocates for fair elections, is trying to disqualify Greene from running for re-election, arguing that he By participating in the January 6, 2021, rebellion has violated the Fourteenth Amendment.
