In a ranking of the most and least reliable airlines to travel in 2023, it was voted the best airline in South America.
This week, rankings of the worst and least reliable airlines to travel were published, according to a published report, ranking American Airlines as the least reliable due to its high complaints, delays, lost luggage and other inconveniences. Compare The Market, a site specializing in travel insurance (and all types) based in Australia.
And within the report, there is a startling detail. Aerolineas Argentinas was voted the best airline to fly in South America.
Summing up, Compare Markets said: “First up is Aerolineas Argentinas: based in Buenos Aires, it is Argentina’s national airline, and over the past 12 months, has received only one complaint of customer service abuse and four cases of lost tickets.” And trouble getting refunds for fees. So if you want to explore South America this year, there’s no better airline to use.”
So if you’re thinking of traveling in the region, Aerolineas Argentinas seems to be the best airline to fly to in South America.
On the other hand, Air New Zealand, on the other hand, is on top when flying in the Asia Pacific region, with only one complaint of misinformation or fare increase and four cases of not receiving a proper refund; Canada’s Air Transat (also known as Air Canada’s main rival) as well as Brazilian low-cost carrier Gol Airlines.
Looking at the report published by the website, American Airlines was declared the least reliable with 2,183 recorded flight problems, 157 cases of ticket overbooking and 1,476 refunds.
Aerolineas Argentinas voted best airline in South America
In fact, American Airlines scored worst on all ranked points with the exception of lost and delayed baggage (United ranked first on that).
United Airlines isn’t doing much better, with 763 cases of lost, delayed or damaged baggage, 470 cases of misreported fares and 22 cases of discrimination over the past 12 months.
Spirit, JetBlue and Frontier, all low-cost carriers operating in the United States, also proved to be the least reliable airlines in the world.
However, it is important to remember that since this is US data, there is likely to be some bias towards US airlines, with more passengers taking flights with them.
So if we look at airlines outside North American soil, we can see that the least reliable is Germany’s Lufthansa, with 566 reports of baggage problems and 466 problems getting refunds. Air India and Air Canada did not fare as well, with Air India’s main problem being difficulty in obtaining refunds and Air Canada’s lost and delayed baggage.
