Shah Rukh Khan’s film Jawaan has once again reminded us of the Oxygen scandal. On August 10, 2017, 57 children suffering from encephalitis died from lack of oxygen at the BRD Medical College. A similar story of innocent deaths due to lack of oxygen was shown in the film ‘Jawaan’.
The book on the Gorakhpur Hospital tragedy has been published
The story of the film “Jawaan” is similar to the book “Gorakhpur Hospital Tragedy” written by Dr. Kafeel Khan, accused in the Gorakhpur oxygen scandal. However, BRD Medical College of Gorakhpur is not mentioned in this film. In the film “Jawaan” Dr. Iram Khan the head of the encephalitis ward. This film is similar to the story of the book by Dr. Kafeel Khan. However, the story at the end of this film is slightly different. After a long struggle, the Health Minister himself appeared live on television and confessed his crime. He said he and the medical system were responsible for the death of the innocent child. There is no guilt on Dr. Iram Khan on the death of children. In this film, Dr. Iram Khan described as Dost Mukt.

In his book he wrote how a doctor deals with such a great tragedy. He has denied all charges against him. In his book, he has also raised questions about the government machinery and provided a full report on the Gorakhpur oxygen incident. He has also alleged that due to non-payment of the outstanding amount of Rs 68 lakh for oxygen, oxygen was even provided to the medical college. But the government, despite hiding its mistakes, put all the blame on me.
Doctor Kafeel did not speak to Shah Rukh
In conversation with Prabhat Khabar, Dr. Kafeel Khan that I have not spoken to the director, writer and actor of this film, Shahrukh Khan, nor have I seen this film yet. After the release of this film, I received many calls, many even sent us small clips.
