Tata Motors launched its Tata Punch micro SUV in October. The car has a starting price of Rs 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car has been getting great response from customers since its launch. According to a report from Autocar, some variants of Tata Punch have a waiting time of up to 9 months. The report also states which variants are most preferred by the customers.

The highest demand for this variant
Let us know that Tata Punch comes in a total of four variants – pure, adventurous, accomplished and creative. Sources told Autocar that the most sought after variant is the Pure Base variant of the Tata Punch. Some cities have a waiting period of more than 9 months for this variant. The second variant, which is the most preferred, is Adventure. This variant has a wait time of up to five months. Depending on the color and location, the rest of the variants are waiting for two to three months.

Features the base variant of the Tata Punch
In the base variant of the Tata Punch Pure, you get features like front power windows, tilt steering, 90 degree open door, LED indicator, body colored bumper and cladding. The company has taken special care of the security features from the base variant. It has safety features like dual airbags, ABS, ISOFIX child seat anchor, front power windows, central locking and engine start / stop technology. To get additional features in the Pure variant, customers can take the Rhythm Pack, which costs Rs 35,000. It features a 3.5-inch infotainment system, 4 speakers and a steering wheel-mounted control.

Engine and transmission
The Tata Punch is powered by a 1.2 liter three cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It generates 86bhp and 113Nm of peak torque. It gets the option of a 5-speed manual (MT) and an AMT automatic gearbox. According to the company, the manual transmission has an ARAI certified mileage of 18.97kmpl and is automatically available at 18.82kmpl. Note that only MT options are available in the base variant, while AMT Adventure starts with trim.
