post game quotes
head coach Jim Schlossnagel
On tonight’s all-round pitching performance…
“Good teams find many ways to win. It was definitely an offensive night the way the wind was blowing, but there was elite pitching. The lefty they brought in (Evan Taylor) was a super impressive hand and we There know more of them are in the bullpen down there.”
graduation catcher troy clench
Being able to execute in many ways…
“We’ve had a really good offense lately, but it’s great to see that we can do both. When you can start off well with a date (Nathan Detmer) and then you have Palishk to return it to him and the rest feel good.”
Sophomore RHP Nathan Detmer
On what he learned through his pitching performance tonight…
“I think the adrenaline in the first innings must have got me a little bit. I tried to match him throughout the game. I was talking to coach Yesky because he said it was a moment to learn, not match it. It’s okay to pitch lower mph and find out instead. Next time I’ll definitely do that. It was a learning experience.”
Undergraduate LHP Jacob Palischo
“Coming out of the bullpen will put you in some weird situations and really it’s all about collecting outs. We can’t control when we let go of that ball. I know I have the best eight. There are fielders and outfielders behind me. It makes it a lot easier to execute and pitch.”
