In this scene, Ahsoka wakes up after falling down a ravine in the middle of her fight against Baylan Skoll. But instead of being in the water, on the coast or even in the afterlife, the protagonist appears in the world between worlds. And since then she has not been alone He is accompanied by his former master Anakin Skywalker. (Who would ultimately be Darth Vader). The Jedi returned to Star Wars once again, even though they were already dead by the time of the series.

In an interview with IGN, Ramsey did not elaborate on the reason for Anakin’s return, something that will likely be discovered in Ahsoka’s fifth chapter. But he revealed how he worked with both Hayden Christensen and Rosario Dawson during this emotional moment.

“Rosario knew what that meant for the story, she just conveyed the idea that she woke up somewhere with no idea what was going on, without understanding it.” I’m dead? I’m alive? Am I where I think I am?’ And the way that expression changes at the end when she sees him and says his name is so sweet. It was as if she had become the person she was the last time she saw him.” says the filmmaker.

In Christensen’s case, Ramsey gave the actor very specific instructions on how to handle it. “I just told him, ‘It’s like you haven’t seen your daughter in two years.’. “She’s gone to college, you see her again and she’s a different person, but she’s still your daughter,” the director explains.

“(Christensen) is a really sweet and reserved guy. He was very happy to be there after all this time. It meant a lot to him,” Ramsey said. Anakin’s interpreter had already returned in Obi-Wan Kenobi for the first time since the prequels. Now, In Ahsoka, the character is reunited with her padawan, even though Christensen and Dawson had never appeared on screen together. The development of this new property is explored in the fifth chapter of the series, which premieres on Disney+ on September 13th.
