Air Canada why flydubs today announced a new alliance to provide more convenient travel options for customers flying between Canada, the Middle East, East Africa, the Indian subcontinent and South Asia.
Subject to final regulatory approval, the Air Canada marketing code will be placed on nine routes operated by flyDubai from Dubai, giving customers the ability to travel to these markets with the issuance of a single ticket. Routes include flights to Middle Eastern cities such as Madinah, Dammam, Bahrain, Jeddah and Muscat, as well as to Colombo and Karachi on the Indian subcontinent.
Interconnection to a large number of destinations
Additionally, through an interlining agreement, customers will be able to seamlessly connect in Dubai to over 60 destinations operated by fly Dubai in the Middle East, East Africa and South Asia, including Kathmandu, Djibouti and the Maldives. More than 30 of these destinations are exclusive to Fly Dubai and are not operated by other Air Canada partners.
“Air Canada is extremely pleased to partner with flydubai, expanding our connectivity to the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent, a growing source of immigration and travel to Canada. This new alliance perfectly complements Air Canada’s nonstop service to Dubai from Toronto and Vancouver, and strengthens our relationship with flydubai’s codeshare partner Emirates. Together, we look forward to unifying our network and improving the experience for our customers,” said Mark Gallardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue & Network Planning at Air Canada.
