Aiways is one of these Chinese manufacturers recently established in the French market. Like Link & Company or MG, the brand founded in 2017 is looking to attract electric family SUV customers with its U5, a model launched in China in 2019 and expected to arrive here in 2020. Avage developed an original strategy for this, distribution entirely with dealers. and managing the maintenance of your cars within Feu vertical centers. It was in the beginning because since then, having not been able to convince enough customers, Away has finally decided to open concessions.

Will the new U6 allow Aiways to finally succeed in France? Invented a few months ago in Paris by Pierre-Olivier Marie as his concept car, this new electric coupe SUV is currently starting marketing in China in its production version. There, according to Aves the machine would “beat all history pre-orders records of the trail during the first day”. Which certainly doesn’t mean much for a brand born only in 2017 (the upside would be worrying too). In any case, the U6 displays a less sober design than the U5, with a silhouette somewhat reminiscent of Polestar’s stylistic codes and a more aggressive front end. At 4.63 m tall, it is much shorter than the U5 (4.68 m) and lies between the Volkswagen ID.5 and the koda Anac coupé, two machines also trying to look like the real coupé.

big battery optional
In China, the U6 embeds the U5’s 63 kWh battery in its basic version. Battery capacity climbs to 72 kWh in the intermediate variant and 88 kWh in the top model. Prices should logically be slightly higher than the U5, currently costing €39,990 in its base version and €45,990 in its higher finish. Its prices are therefore likely to put it in direct competition with references to the European market, but at the moment, we do not know the date of its marketing in France.
