Alexis Sanchez signed with Marseille in the French league

MARSEILLE, France ( Associated Press) – Alexis Sanchez is on his way to France.

The historic scorer of the Chilean national team signed with Olympique de Marseille shortly after the termination of his contract with Inter Milan.

League runners-up France announced the signing on Wednesday. He specified that the 33-year-old attacker successfully passed the medical examination after an in-principle deal was reached with the club.

Details of the length of the contract and the salary he would receive were not disclosed.

The acquisition had an immediate effect on the Mediterranean city. A group of club supporters went to Marseille Provence airport to welcome the player.

“I look forward to doing my best and a big hug,” Sanchez said in a video posted on the club’s social network.

In addition, Marcella produced a video featuring the highlights of Sanchez’s career, which featured her number 70 on the back of her shirt.

Marseille, coached by Croatian Igor Tudor and who will play in the next edition of the Champions League, will be the ninth club in Sánchez’s career.

After making his professional debut with Cobreloa in 2005, Sánchez made the leap to Europe a year later, signing with the Italian Serie A’s Udinese. He returned to South America to play with River Plate in his home country, Colo Colo and then in Argentina. He joined Barcelona from Spain in 2011 and has since continued with Arsenal, Manchester United and Inter.

With the raid, Sanchez accumulated a harvest of 143 games and 47 goals. He is one of the key players of the so-called “Golden Generation” who won the Copa America in 2015 and 2016.
