India has banned Chinese apps since the border dispute between India and China. India has already banned at least 200 applications. Due to this the number of local app developers in India has increased. These homegrown mobile applications are now quite popular among Indian users. This suggests that there has been a huge jump in users to download native applications in India. Even the Indian government is promoting these homegrown apps. So it will be interesting to see if these homegrown apps will be able to compete with foreign apps like WhatsApp, Twitter and Google Maps.
