The tourism sector is undergoing an intense technological and digital transformation which has accelerated in recent years as a result of the pandemic.
From search and reservation methods to payment or customer service, the services offered by travel agencies are increasingly agile and personalised, always with the aim of improving the traveller’s experience from start to finish.
In this context, technology provider Amadeus and innovation platform The Wise Dream have come together to jointly launch TriPortation, a project that brings the value of artificial intelligence, virtual reality and the metaverse to the tourism sector.
Its purpose is none other than to train travel agencies and to return the experience to the physical point of sale. This project is designed to modernize the tourism industry in Spain through the creation of hyper-personalized prediction and recommendation systems based on data generated from the implementation of virtual reality points in travel agencies.
These data will allow for the continuous improvement and implementation of Artificial Intelligence. Put at the service of the industry, they will help travel marketers make better decisions and increase their income.
Through the establishment of virtual reality points in travel agencies, Triportation will provide travelers with an immersive experience, bringing them closer to a virtual reality with a multitude of hyper-realistic environments in which the traveler himself can experiment or test different travel options beforehand. Is. Sightseeing or points of tourist interest in favorite destinations.
Edu William, CEO and Co-founder of The Wise Dream, said, “Our collaboration with Amadeus will enable Triportation to enrich the travel experience for travelers right from the start of the inspiration phase in the travel agency. At the same time, it will allow travel providers to strengthen their portfolio of services, deliver new experiences and increase sales and average tickets thanks to the upselling options available at the office.’
Christian Boutin, Managing Director for Spain and Portugal, and SVP Travel Sellers for Western Europe, Amadeus, said: “This technology offers tremendous potential to engage with customers in an entirely new and unique way during the critical pre-trip inspirational phase. We are confident that the risk-free “try before you buy” opportunity will drive travelers’ desire and enthusiasm to travel, and provide greater sales opportunities for travel providers.’
