Amber Heard digs into Edward Scissorhands in interview about defamation lawsuit

Amber Heard, who recently lost her defamation case against her ex-husband and actor Johnny Depp, has said a strange thing. Edward Scissorhands References in his first comments about the test in an interview on NBC Today Show. The clip of the interview, which aired in the United States today, was posted by the channel on Twitter.

When asked by the host what she thought of the allegations made by Mr. Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez that she was “performing” on the stand and that she lied about the abuse at the hands of Mr. Depp, she said Ms Heard replied: “The man’s lawyer who convinced the world says he has scissors for fingers? I’m an artist?”

“I had listened to several weeks of testimony saying straight away that I am a terrible actress. So I’m a little confused as to how I can be both.”

Mr Depp plays the lead in Tim Burton’s 1990 film about Edward ScissorhandsWhich is one of his most iconic roles.

In the same interview, Ms. Hurd also accused jurors of being duped by her ex-husband, calling him a “fantastic actor”. She also said that she would not back down from her testimony in court and that Mr. Depp tortured her physically and mentally.

“Until the day I die,[I will]stand by every word of my testimony,” the Aquaman star said in the interview about the former couple’s high-profile defamation case.

Mr. Depp sued Ms. Hurd for $50 million in 2018 Washington Post Op-Ed titled “I spoke out against sexual violence – and faced the wrath of our culture. This has to change.” Mr Depp’s name was not mentioned in the article, but his lawyers argued that it was falsely implied that he physically and sexually abused Ms Heard during their relationship.

Ms Heard sued Mr Depp for $100 million, accusing him of running a “smear campaign” against him and describing her trial as a continuation of “abuse and harassment”.

Ultimately, on June 1, a jury found unanimously that Ms. Heard defamed ex-husband Johnny Depp and awarded him more than $10 million in damages. Ms. Hurd, on the other hand, was awarded $2 million in damages through a counter-claim.
