Amul writes to PM Modi demanding ban on PETA

Amul’s Vice President Valamji Humbal urged PETA to ban it, accusing it of ruining the means of livelihood of the people. Humble also said that PETA’s actions are tarnishing the image of the Indian dairy sector.

He further said, “The milk producers of Gujarat are requesting the Prime Minister to initiate necessary action to ban those organizations who are trying to malign the image of the dairy sector through false and misleading information campaigns. Huh. These organizations are promoting the plants of multinational companies producing synthetic milk.”

He described the demand of PETA as an attempt to destroy the Indian dairy industry and said that this industry saves the country from importing milk and its products. PETA India asks Amul to increase production of vegan milk

PETA had asked Amul to focus on the production of vegan milk. Both have come face to face regarding this. A non-profit organization (PETA) had appealed to Amul to take advantage of the thriving vegan food and milk market. PETA claimed that the demand for plant-based products is increasing.

Countering this suggestion of PETA, Amul said that it wants us to snatch the livelihood of our 10 crore poor farmers. Amul said that PETA wants us to leave all our resources created in collaboration with our farmers in 75 years and go for genetically modified soya products by a big multi national company. Rejecting this suggestion of PETA, Amul took strong objection and has now demanded the PM to ban such institutions.
