Cocktails with beer as the main ingredient: a long tradition in different countries – and something you can treat yourself to.

… bet there are such things going on in the comment column? Sure – a cold beer is incredibly refreshing. But everything is not like this here. It’s about the wonderful quirks of the various culinary traditions (okay, let’s be honest: most of these drinks are from Mexico) that use beer to make cocktails and drinks. And the fact is, some of these are great if you’re open to new things.
Let’s go, then – at least for a while at the end of summer, at least in thought: Here are 8 beer cocktails you should treat yourself to!
Michelada
Classic: As it is drunk in the original Mexico, in the Southwest of the United States and now pretty much everywhere in Central America! There are two basic types: one with and one without. I screamedTomato juice enriched with mussel stock and spices.

6 squares if needed I screamed or tomato juice or V8 (or similar vegetable juice)
1 bottle of Mexican beer
3 cl lime juice
2 shots of Worcestershire Sauce
2 shots of Hot Chili Sauce
2 shots of Maggi sauce (or soy sauce)
1 lemon, for garnish
Spread tazine (or salt mixture) on a small plate. Rub the rim of a pint glass with a lime wedge and dip in chili salt. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour Worcestershire sauce, chili sauce, lime juice, soy sauce and Clamato (if needed) into glass and top with beer. Garnish with a slice of lime.

All quantities are approximate, it is up to your taste to decide in the end. Don’t like vegetable juice? Only I screamed Leaving!
Maya Michelada
In a way, michelada is the Mexican answer to the Bloody Mary. Here’s a version with a slightly smoky flavor with the addition of mezcal.

1 tablespoon chipotle salt
2 cl mezcali
2 cl lime juice
1 cl agave syrup
5 shots of Cholula Hot Sauce
5 shots Maggi (or soy sauce)
2 shots of Worcestershire Sauce
1 bottle of Modelo Especial Lager (or other Mexican beer)
1 lemon, for garnish
Spread chipotle salt (or other chili-salt mixture) on a small plate. Rub the rim of a pint glass with a slice of lime and dip it in. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
all other material Except for beer (!) Pour into a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes, shake vigorously, and strain into a pint glass. Carefully top up with beer. Garnish with a slice of lime.

6 cl tequila
2 cl Cointreau
3 cl lime juice

Make a salt rim on the beer glass, if necessary. Fill with ice cubes.
Add tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes, shake vigorously, and strain into a beer glass. Carefully top up with beer. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Perfect: Corona + Margarita. Too Mexican Car Crash Cocktail either Mexican Bulldog Cocktail Having said that, this drink may seem a bit trashy at first glance. But really it is the perfect long drink for summers.
6 cl White Tequila 100% Agave
1,5 cl Triple Sec (Grand Marnier O.A.)
3 cl freshly squeezed lemon juice
3 cl freshly squeezed lime juice
3 cl Zuckersirup
1 ice cold 210ml bottle of Mexican beer
1 gross beer glass (pint-glass o..)
1 tricolor
1 lemon slice for garnishing
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes, combine tequila, triple sec, citrus juice, and simple syrup and shake vigorously.
Moisten the rim of a strong beer glass with a slice of lime and add some salt (really Optional, because ideally you drink the drink with a straw).
Fill the glass halfway with ice cubes. Strain the contents of a cocktail shaker into a glass. Open the beer bottle and place it upside down in the glass without emptying it. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Gin and grapefruit are a classic combination: together they make the long drink Greyhound. The latter with a salt rim is called a salty dog. If you now replace grapefruit juice with Grapefruit Wheat beer, you get this refreshing drink:
6 cl gin or vodka
Schöferhofer Grapefruit-Hefeweizen
Spread the tazeen on a small plate. Moisten the rim of a tall drinking glass and dip in chili salt. Fill the glass with ice cubes, add gin or vodka and carefully pour the wheat beer.
Radler Paloma
A Twist on the Classic Paloma Long Drink! (The Austrian Radler is recommended, although Swiss variants are also welcome.)
6 cl tequila
2 cl grapefruitsoft
1.5 cl lime juice
1,5 cl Zuckersirup
Stigall Radler (or similar Panache)
Grapefruit Twist, for Garnish
all content Except for beer (!) Pour into a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes, shake vigorously and strain into a tall drink or Collins glass. Carefully top up with beer. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit.

Now we say goodbye to Mexico and cross the border to the north of the United States, where the following drink is often enjoyed. Which… drink? Or is it more of a joke? Anyway it’s fun.
