A little over ten days ago, Android Auto 8.1 was launched in a new beta, and now the final version 8.1.6264 has been officially released. Again, Google missed writing a new changelog or announcing any innovations. We have to go back and look for what is new or different.
I took a look right after the new version was released and couldn’t find any noticeable changes. Which probably means again that there could be a few bug fixes in the first place. There have been a number of reasons over the last few months.
There were general issues that hit many users. Android Auto suddenly no longer wanted to connect to many users. There were also problems with Samsung’s Galaxy Z series.
Bug fixes have been published for this for a long time, but the latest version probably never hurts.
Unfortunately, what is still missing are new tracks for Coolwalk. The extensive redesign of the user interface was supposed to come in the summer, but week after week and month after month nothing happened at all. Perhaps the summer holidays were confused with the winter holidays?
