Mayflower Mountain Resort is a new ski resort in Park City, Utah, and Deer Valley. For a long time it was thought that both winters should be combined into one day.
The exclusive Deer Valley Resort, almost always voted the best ski resort in the United States, has always denied that it had any intention of joining this new project. But this week during a ski industry discussion organized in Park City, they admitted that they are in talks with organizers at Mayflower Mountain Resort to manage their facilities. And if an agreement is reached, one of them will be sold.

There are three ski resorts in the United States that do not allow snowboarders access to their ski lifts. One is Deer Valley in Utah, another is nearby High Ski, and the third is Mad River Glen in Vermont.
When Duis was introduced in the 80s, it was associated with an “alternative” profile that sought to deviate from the norm, which coincided a lot with skiing. Dress and manners clashed on the trail. Moreover, from the beginning, no technique was established. People learned how they could and seeing this meant people went off a lot awkwardly and clashed with other users.
In fact, in Mad River Glen, a similar problem caused access to the one-seater-chair-to-other ban in 1986. Snowboarders protested, so the owner decided to block the entire ski area. When the ski cooperative was formed a few years ago, it was asked if this restriction would be lifted, but most members decided not to.
Deer Valley Resort does it out of elitism. His customers don’t want to see snowboarders because they still associate them with users from the ’80s. At Alta Ski Area, since its slopes and reliefs are on public land, a lawsuit was filed a few years ago to intervene on behalf of the state, contending that no one can stop it from accessing the public land. But he did not succeed so far.
Mayflowers Mountain Resort will join this small group of non-boat friendly resorts. That’s if Deer Valley ends up under management. Also, anyone who wants to ride their wide board in the City Park on the track has a choice, since the city is the center of the real stations that touch each other nearby.
