Félix Hernández has been announced as the latest co-owner and investor in Baseball United, a new professional baseball league based in Dubai. The former Creole pitcher joins Elvis Andrus as the Venezuelans who are part of this project.
Furthermore, the historic Seattle Mariners is part of the group of owners of this circuit, together with Mariano Rivera, Barry Larkin, Adrián Beltré and the aforementioned Andrus.
“It is a great honor to add Felix to our ownership team. Felix is one of the most successful and dominant pitchers of our generation and an icon in Seattle and his home country of Venezuela. On the field, he’s done everything from pitching a perfect game to pitching a spotless inning to hitting a grand slam. Off the field, he’s a savvy entrepreneur with a passion for growing the game. Our team and I look forward to partnering with Felix when we launch our league in Dubai later this year,” Kash Shaikh said on the Baseball United website.
This project is the first professional baseball league focused on the Middle East and Indian subcontinent, which will start play in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in November this year.

“The King” during his major league career posted a record of 169 wins, 136 losses, 3.42 ERA in 2729.2 innings of work, 1.21 WHIP, and 2,524 strikeouts. Plus, he’s won a Cy Young, gone to six All-Star Games, and had a perfect game, his last so far in the best baseball in the world.
