Apple beats Samsung when it comes to phone brand switchers, iPhone 13 tops

Users prefer Apple over Samsung when switching from one smartphone to another, new data has revealed. The iPhone 13 also emerged as the best selling phone.

In what will come as a major shot in the arm for Apple ahead of the upcoming iPhone 14 launch, it turns out that iPhones are pretty much the preferred gadget for those switching between brands. With the iPhone 14 being promoted as a game-changer, such data would certainly be welcome- for Apple. How does it come out? Hence, while switching from one smartphone to another, users have multiple brands in the market to choose from. Now, a recent report indicated that Apple is the leading brand for buyers when it comes to switching between the two smartphone brands – Samsung and Apple. A report by Gizmochina reveals that Apple has surpassed Samsung by a huge margin, according to new data from US carrier channels. The data suggested that 73 percent of users choose an iPhone maker when switching from one smartphone brand to another, while only 16 percent switch to the South Korean brand Samsung.

iPhone 13 is still on top

Last year, Apple launched its iPhone 13 series comprising four smartphones- iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 mini. Of these, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro are still selling better than the previous generation of Apple’s smartphones, the report suggested. Sadly, the sales figures for these iPhones are unknown. Still, the data suggested that the iPhone 13 continues to shine as the top model across all carrier channels with a 25 percent share in May 2022. It seems that Apple’s compact smartphones are not doing well in sales, as the iPhone 13 mini accounts for only 2 percent and sales of the latest iPhone SE 3 were also weak, carrier representatives said. Apart from these, 4 percent contributed to the sales of other iPhones.

It’s understandable why Apple might skip the iPhone 14 mini at the upcoming flagship iPhone 14 series launch later this year. Multiple leaks suggest that Apple will replace the mini avatar of the iPhone with a new iPhone 14 Max.
