Apple has gone a step further in its commitment to innovation and cutting edge technology. The Tim Cook-led company has announced that it will launch its first Mixed Reality glasses in the market, a device that will combine Virtual and Augmented Reality to give users an immersive and personalized experience.
Apple’s glasses will be called Vision Pro and will be officially launched in April 20232. As per the leak, they will feature a sleek and lightweight design along with a high-resolution OLED display, a powerful processor, and long-lasting battery life. Furthermore, they will have advanced sensors to detect user movement, environment, and gestures.
Apple aims to create a device that allows the user to travel between virtual and augmented reality as per their choice or need. Virtual reality is one that immerses the user in a computer-generated digital environment, while augmented reality is one that superimposes digital elements on a real environment. Mixed Reality is a combination of the two, allowing you to interact with both worlds.
Apple Glass will primarily focus on providing entertainment, education, health and productivity experiences. The user will be able to enjoy games, movies, series, music and social networks in a detailed and personalized format. You will also be able to access educational, medical or professional content in a more interactive and efficient manner.
The Vision Pro will be compatible with iOS and macOS devices, as well as Apple streaming platforms and apps. They are expected to cost $1,999 and will have limited production due to component shortages.
Apple isn’t the only company committed to mixed reality. Other companies such as Facebook, Microsoft or Google are also working on their own tools to compete in this emerging market. However, Apple has relied on its reputation for quality and innovation to differentiate itself from its competitors and win over consumers.
