Italian automobile maker Piaggio is set to launch a new 125cc scooter in India. It will be named Aprilia SXR125, which will be based on the company’s SXR160 scooter. It will be a messy-scooter in appearance and styling. The company has also started pre-booking the scooter, which can be done through the Aprilia dealership or online platform. Customers can book scooters with a token of Rs 5,000.
It will be the engine
The Aprilia SXR125 will be powered by a 125cc single-cylinder engine that generates 9.4bhp of power and 9.9Nm of torque. The engine will be connected to the CVT automatic transmission. The same engine has already been given to the company’s other two scooters SR 125 and Storm 125, no change is expected.

Talking about the features, the company said that the new Aprilia SXR 125A will be supplied with LED headlights, LED taillights, full digital cluster, Bluetooth mobile connection option, comfortable seats, adjustable rear suspension, disc brakes with CBS and signature Aprilia graphics. The company claims that customers will experience style, performance and comfortable riding.
