According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Clark County Superior Court, the video’s metadata showed it was recorded in an Arabic in Vancouver’s Mill Plain neighborhood on October 30.
The manager admitted to investigators that he had urinated in the milkshake mix bag at least twice, but said he was “almost certain” that he threw the bag out. He said that he was working alone in the restaurant that night and that he did so for sexual gratification.
Police said he told detectives that had he not thrown the bag, it would have been mixed in another mixture in the next shift and served to the customers.
Court records say another manager at Arby’s told detectives that the restaurant sold at least one ice cream float and about 30 to 40 milkshakes that day.
In an email to Columbian, Vancouver Police Sgt. Julie Ballu said investigators have no evidence that Arby’s or his franchise owner knew about the man’s “disgusting actions.”
Clark County’s director of public health, Dr. Alan Melnick, told the newspaper that there was no serious health risk from drinking urine-contaminated drinks.
A judge on Friday increased the man’s bail from $5,000 to $40,000. He is to appear on May 25.
