Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami was transferred to Taloja prison in Raigad district on Sunday. Police said Arnab was using cell phones in custody, so this action was taken. On November 4, police confiscated Arnab’s cell phone while in detention, officials said. Raigad Crime Branch found that Arnab was active on social media using someone else’s cell phone. As he passed Taloja prison, Goswami shouted accusations that the jailer at Alibag prison had beaten him on Saturday night. His life was in danger. He was also not allowed to speak to his lawyer.

Meanwhile, protests erupted in Rajghat in Delhi in support of Arnab Goswami. BJP leaders Kapil Mishra and Tejinder Bagga were arrested by police. Kapil Mishra said it was the first time in the country that not only a journalist had been arrested, but his family members had also been arrested.
