Theme of IF 2022 Met Gala “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” Was Ashley Tisdale Featuring some ensemble casts that deserve their own chapter.
The “High School Musical star” — who didn’t attend Vogue’s famous fashion event — shared some early- and middle-aged outfits from her past on Twitter on Monday night, when the iconic event was taking place.
“If I’m ever invited to the #MetGala I’ll be repeating one of my previous iconic looks…” she wrote, presumably from the comfort of her own home.
Along with the post, Tisdale uploaded some hilarious photos of herself on the red carpet that serve as a time capsule for Y2K Fashion.
The photos are mostly from her early Disney days from 2004 to 2006 and feature items and trends from that truly bonkers era of fashion, including Ugg boots, down-skirt pants, skinny scarves, and bubble-gum pink accessories.
During this period, Tisdale was also a big fan of low-rise jeans, chunky belts, and sequin shrugs, which is totally understandable because they were all the rage at the time.
And although Tisdale wasn’t at this year’s Met Gala, her “High School Musical” co-star and friend Vanessa Hudgens was – Which honestly doesn’t seem fair. In “High School Musical”, Gabrielle (Hudgens) always seemed to have got what Sharpay (Tisdale) wanted, despite Sharpay’s zealous efforts.,
So, we say: Invite Tisdale to the next Met Gala, Anna Wintour! Because we might get a headline-grabbing outfit that looks something like this:
