The Institute for Cultural Industry and the Arts (ICA) has provided funding of 100,000 Euros for the production of nine performing arts shows.
The subsidy, under a competitive competition regime, is intended for companies and professionals in the field of theatre, street plays, dance and circus productions whose premieres cover the period between January 1 and December 31, 2022.
These aid companies would come to Uparte for their work ‘Desprovisto’; Teatro de la Entrega, with the project ‘Momo’; Los Clavels Theatre, with the show ‘Barbazul’; Company Daytone, which presents work with ‘what we’ve done’; and Bonjourmonamour, for his musical ‘Pernod, Music Hall’. The rest of the beneficiaries are the company Pupaclown, with ‘And Then… Cataplan’; Trama Teatro, with ‘Entre Mitos Anda El Juego’; Zarco Producciones, for ‘Pancreas’, and Aye Cultura Social, for their show ‘La Garabía, disdisdences Performáticas’.
Manuel Cebrian, General Director of the ICA, explained that “the subsidy is part of the regional government’s strategy to promote culture, contributing to offering a stable and quality program in our theatres, auditoriums and music halls.” In this sense, this new economic injection promotes cultural consumption, along with the structuring and consolidation of the commercial fabric of cultural and artistic industries.
The aim is to support a quality, diverse, innovative and interesting artistic offer to the public. Therefore, with the aim of continuing to support the beautiful creation of playwrights, in applications, priority has been given to criteria such as the professional career of the applicant or the number of performances.
The maximum amount of subsidy provided by ICA to each project does not exceed 50 per cent of the total cost of its development. Eligible expenses include direct costs (salaries and social security for staff and performers) and per diems related to production and premiere work, as well as rent of equipment and physical resources, artist cash and set design, costumes, music, text or Huh. advertising, among others.
