Australia and Indonesia, the next selection rivals

The Argentina national team confirmed their two rivals ahead of the start of the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup: Australia and Indonesia.

For their next FIFA dates, the Albiceleste will tour Asia in June, where they will face Australia in China and then visit Indonesia.

This Wednesday, it was confirmed that the Lionel Scaloni-led side will first face the Australians, an opponent they eliminated in the round of 16 of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, possibly on June 15 in Beijing.

After this, on June 18 or 19, Argentina will face Indonesia as a guest.

These two friendlies will be the last for the national team before the start of the South American qualifiers for the next World Cup, as the qualifying tournament begins in September, when the Albiceleste host Ecuador and then visit Bolivia in La Paz.

Marcelo Bielsa on Albiceleste, world champion.

Veteran technical director Marcelo Bielsa, who was presented as the new coach of the Uruguayan national team this Wednesday, mentioned how he experienced the coronation of the Albiceleste team at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

“Obviously I’m Argentinian, I’m proud. First, I love being Argentine. Second, I love football in my country like it couldn’t be any other way. Third, I’m a football fan. Fans go on the field and the first thing they say is “We want our team to win. I wanted Argentina to win the World Cup either way and then I was going to analyze,” he said.

Then, he assessed Lionel Messi’s achievement on a personal level: “Of course, the reward that Messi has received is linked more to his stubbornness, his patience, his stamina, than to his resources, which are clearly extraordinary. “
