For Mahindra’s famous SUV Alturas G4, the month of December was very difficult. According to the report, only 9 units of this SUV have been sold in December, which is quite a shocking figure.
The company launched this SUV in 2018 but it could not do anything special in the market. The SUV is a rebadged version of the South Korean automobile manufacturer SsangYong’s famous model Rexton G4. Adorned with a powerful engine and an attractive look, this SUV could not get the better response from customers as the company expected. And the Toyota Fortuner, which is considered the leader in this segment, has very less sales in front of it.
In December last year, there was a sale of 123 units
In April last year, the company started production of the new BS6 version of the Mahindra Alturas G4 at its Chakan plant. Talking about sales, only 9 units were sold in December. At the same time last year, during this month, the company sold a total of 123 units. Apart from this, if we talk about the SUV that competes, then during the month of December last, a total of 584 units of Fortuner and 458 units of Gloster were sold.
Discontinue can be done soon
According to media reports, Mahindra may soon discontinue this SUV. However, the company currently has components for processing 500 units of the Altraus G4. Apart from this, the company has also said that it will no longer invest in this Korean subsidiary.
Mahindra Alturas G4 features and engine
