At the end of June, the municipality of Graneros will start free climbing workshops for the residents of the commune. Thanks to the construction of the foregoing, boulder-type wall, which meant an investment of more than six million pesos.
Mayor Claudio Segovia explained that the construction of the wall was made possible thanks to a project of the National Fund for the Promotion of Sports of the Ministry of Sports. “Our technical team was in charge of applying for the initiative, which received the resources considering its positive impact on the community. We thank our officials and the government,” he said.
The climbing wall was installed in the municipal stadium of Graneros, the same place where the heated pool and gym are also located. The mayor of Graneros, Claudio Segovia, explained that the idea is to build an entire sports circuit around it. “Today we start from this wall, but we will continue to expand our sports offer. We aim that all residents have the opportunity to get closer to a healthy life,” he said.
Segovia said climbing workshops, in charge of special monitors, will begin next June and will be open to the entire community. “We will have teachers, we will design circuits with different levels of difficulty. The idea is that the sport is supervised and guided by an expert, and that everyone can learn this discipline that brings many health benefits .
Finally, Segovia explained that “we are very pleased with this project that allows us to expand our sports offer with this discipline that brings so many health benefits. If we can expand this climbing in other points of the commune Let’s repeat the wall so now we will see the reception through future evaluation.
