Australia won the toss and decided to bat first Sri Lanka
Cameron Green and Mitchell Marsh will play their first matches of the ODI series but Steven Smith has missed his quad injury and Mitchell Starc is waiting a little longer for his return.
Jhye Richardson has also been brought back into the line-up with Pat Cummins rested, and Australia have turned up the balance of their attack with just one frontline spinner in Matt Kuhuman. Green has to bat at number 8 in the all-rounder team.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have made a change, with Niroshan Dickwella coming in at the top of the order in place of the injured Danushka Gunathilaka (leg injury), and he has also been drafted in to keep wickets.
Marsh is the first Australian injured player to return to action after suffering a calf strain during a T20I series. They’ll cross their fingers so they can get through the game without injury – an exhaustive list has been drawn so far on tour: Sean Abbott (broken finger), Mitchell Starc (cut finger), Marsh (calf), Kane Richardson (hamstring), Marcus Stoinis (side), Ashton Agar (side) and Smith (quad).
Australia will bat first for the first time in the series. Rain has interrupted both the games so far and there is always the possibility of DLS replaying it.
