BCG partner Wendy Mackay joins climate advisory Pollination

Sustainability and climate advisory consultancy Pollination has welcomed a new partner: Wendy Mackay.

Hot on the heels of a $50 million investment from the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (as part of its Series B round), Pollination has bolstered its partnership with Wendy Mackay, who joins from Boston Consulting Group.

Founded in 2019 by Tony O’Sullivan and Martijn Wilder, Pollination is a specialist climate change advisory and investment firm, purely focussed on accelerating the transition to a net zero, climate resilient future.

Mackay joins the Sydney office, one of the firm’s three offices alongside London and Chicago. “Pollination is an amazing business that is focused on accelerating the transition to a net zero, nature positive future. I’m excited to see what we can achieve in this critical next decade.”

“Protecting the planet for future generations requires truly transformational ideas. I’m excited to be joining a team with the passion and talent to bring these ideas to life – enabled by a unique business model and an influential global network.”

Mackay joins from strategy consulting firm Boston Consulting Group, where she was a managing director and partner since 2019 and a core member of the Financial Institutions and People & Organization practices. She latterly led the firm’s Climate, Sustainability and Social Impact work in Australia and New Zealand, and was a member of the Asia-Pacific leadership team.

“I am incredibly grateful to all my fantastic clients and colleagues at Boston Consulting Group. We’ve done a lot of fun and impactful things together over the past six years, and I hope to continue partnering with you in the future,” stated Mackay in an announcement on LinkedIn.

Prior to Boston Consulting Group, Mackay worked eight years for real estate group Stockland, where she held several leadership roles. Before that, she served Boston Consulting Group during her first spell at the firm, engineering consultancy Ramboll, and pure play sustainability consultancy ERM.
