Before dying, Benito Castro made controversial statements about Paco Stanley

On the morning of September 11, Benito Castro, who had a close relationship with Paco Stanley, died in a hospital in Mexico City.

If anything characterizes the 77-year-old actor and singer, it is the sincerity with which he treats his audience. Even, on more than one occasion, the frankness that got him into trouble, especially with the controversial statements he made about Paco Stanley.

In October 2022, during an interview with Adela Micha, the ‘Papiringo’ translator revealed some of his addictions and, in turn, some of the Mexican presenter.

“With Paco Stanley, my liver grew two points, two degrees,” he joked. “Paco warned about the two worst races on the face of the earth,” he said, referring to the English and the Galicians.

Meanwhile in 2021, he assured the Golden Scorpion, in the YouTube program ‘Escorpión al Volante’, that “with Paco Stanley he drank alcohol from the time we arrived at the office at 11 in the morning.”

In the same way, he assured that the appetizers and alcoholic beverages will not be lacking for more than five years of their work. He even described the host of ‘Alegrías de Mediodía’ as his “second ride.”

However, one of the most controversial statements he made about Paco Stanley happened in 2020, in an interview with journalist Gustavo Adolfo Infante.

At that moment, Benito Castro told the presenter how shocking it was for him to learn that his best friend had been killed. The actor assured that he immediately went to the scene to support Paco Stanley’s wife. However, he explained that that decision put him in an uncomfortable moment.

“When I did that it seemed fair. “They were looking for me … well, one of the Public Prosecutor’s Offices had the nerve to ask me if I had sex with Paco Stanley,” he declared in ‘The minute that changed my destiny’.

“He also asked me if Paco gave us coke (and I told him), ‘no, he didn’t give it to me, I bought it and sometimes I gave it to him and other times he gave it to me’ (. ..) So that they call him perico, because they take it and it flies, you have to share, otherwise, you won’t know. Going to the bathroom alone is not a joke, you have to chat with another guy to spice up the trip,” he added.

While in the docuseries ‘The show, chronicle of a murder’, aired this year on ViX, Benito Castro spoke about Paco Stanley’s relationship with Amado Carrillo, a drug trafficker known to the world as ‘The Lord of the Skies’.

“I was careful, very careful, I noticed when I arrived at the office that there were two Suburbans, a Lincoln and a Cadillac standing at the door and several armed guns. Villalobos told me, pass him. He is here of the Lord,” he described.

“I opened the door, knocked and he said: ‘Friend, this is my friend so-and-so’ (…) Then I heard him leave, I went in with Paco and the only thing I said to him was: ‘How sweet,'” he said.

Benito Castro died at the age of 77 on September 11 due to a fall he suffered at his home. According to his daughter Debbie Castro, the actor fell down the stairs. The beating left him with broken ribs and a punctured lung, as well as multiple bruises on his chest and severe head injuries.
