Kombes Pol Kusumo Wahyu Kapolresta Sidoarjo said the suspect had the letters AJ (37 years old) before killing his wife Siri S (37 years old), both of whom were involved in an argument on Saturday (16/7/2022). Whereas earlier he used to go to Surmadu for a walk.
Sidorjo police chief said, “According to the results of the investigation, the reason for the quarrel between them shortly before going out for a walk was that the victim was angry while waiting for the suspect to defecate for a long time in the bathroom ” Saturday (23/7/2022) at the Sidorjo Police Headquarters.
AJ admitted that he was angry at the time, as he had fought several times and had low self-esteem. The reason AJ was also desperate to commit violence was because he was jealous of the victim. AJ admitted that he saw a kiss mark on the victim’s chest.
Kusumo continued, the suspect’s wife did not die immediately upon receiving multiple acts of violence. Knowing that his wife was still breathing, AJ again dragged her into the room and again strangled her to death.
Based on the results of the autopsy, Kusumo said the victim’s cause of death was due to blunt force in the mouth and nose area that blocked the airway and caused suffocation.
“During the strangulation in the room, AJ was heard calling the victim by the stepmother of the victim. So, the suspect panicked and strangled him even more so that he would not be caught,” Kusumo said.
“The suspect committed some physical violence with the victim during the attempt to murder, such as strangling the victim, hitting the victim’s head against the wall and the floor,” he said.
AJ was caught by the police when he fled to Yogyakarta. He was arrested on Friday (22/7/2022) at Jogokaryan Mosque in Yogyakarta. (wld/dfn/ipg)
