Beloit man on probation in 2 other shootings arrested Wednesday for car-to-car shooting, Beloit police say

Beloit police said a Beloit man on probation was arrested Wednesday for a car-to-car shooting after being charged with two prior shootouts.

Beloit police said in a Facebook post that shootings were reported near Wisconsin and Henry Avenues at around 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, with a woman reporting she and another man were traveling in a vehicle in the area when A man fired at him from a car. .

Police said the shooter has been identified as 24-year-old Jacques A. Wiggins and was arrested Wednesday afternoon on two possible counts of attempt to murder at primary level.

Wiggins and Damont Deandre Greene, 27 at the time, were charged with the June 20, 2020 shooting that injured four people at the Blue Astor strip club on Highway 51 between Beloit and Janesville.

Wiggins and Green reportedly fired at each other in the entrance area of ​​Blue Astor, and at least four other people nearby were wounded by gunfire.

Wiggins was charged with first-degree attempted murder, four counts of first-degree negligent injury—party to one felony, and two counts of first-degree reckless endangering security—party to one felony.
